Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Decking Technician to support shipyard operations. This role is responsible for assisting with deck preparation, maintenance, equipment handling, and general support of shipboard and dry dock activities. The ideal candidate is physically capable, detail-oriented, and experienced working in industrial or maritime environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general deck maintenance, preparation, and cleanup on vessels and work areas
• Assist with loading, unloading, and securing materials and equipment on deck
• Support rigging operations and movement of heavy components under supervision
• Install, remove, and maintain deck coverings, protections, and temporary structures
• Assist with mooring, line handling, and basic shipboard support tasks
• Maintain safe and organized deck work areas at all times
• Follow all shipyard safety procedures and wear required PPE
• Work closely with trades such as welders, pipefitters, and riggers as needed

Requirements

• Previous experience in shipyard, marine, construction, or industrial environments preferred
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor and shipboard conditions
• Comfortable working at heights, on uneven surfaces, and in confined spaces
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work as part of a team
