Job Title: Electrical Technician (Shipyard / Naval)

Job Type: Contract / Full-Time (Project-Based)
Duration: Long-term project (based on availability schedule)

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Electrical Technicians with a strong background in shipyard or naval environments. This role is responsible for performing inspection, preventive maintenance, and operational verification of shipboard electrical systems in accordance with safety and quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and inspect electrical controllers
  • Check input voltage and inspect Data Acquisition Unit (DAU)
  • Clean and inspect Ship Control Console (SCC) Bullnose
  • Verify operation of power supply fans and +28 VDC systems in:
    • VURS-1
    • VURS-2
    • USRS-1
    • JPN-2
  • Clean and inspect NT/NW circuit breakers
  • Clean and inspect Main Switchboard
  • Clean and inspect Non-Breaking Transfer Device (NBTD)
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Follow all safety procedures including TAG-Out / Lockout-Tagout (LOTO)
  • Document inspections, findings, and completed work

 

Required Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years of electrical experience (shipyard or industrial preferred)
  • Experience working with shipboard electrical systems or similar environments
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution systems and control equipment
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools (multimeter, megger, etc.)
  • Familiarity with TAG-Out / LOTO procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in shipyards such as NASSCO, BAE Systems, or similar
  • Experience supporting U.S. Navy vessels (LCS, DDG, LHD, etc.)
  • Knowledge of NAVSEA standards
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

 

Work Environment

  • Shipboard and shipyard environment
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in industrial conditions
  • Must be able to lift, climb, and perform physically demanding tasks
