Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Pipefitter to support shipyard and industrial piping installation, maintenance, and repair operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with piping systems in marine or industrial environments and the ability to work from technical drawings and specifications with high precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, assemble, fabricate, and maintain piping systems onboard vessels and in industrial settings
  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and piping diagrams
  • Measure, cut, thread, groove, and bend pipes using hand and power tools
  • Align, fit, and secure piping systems according to specifications
  • Perform pressure testing and inspection of piping systems
  • Identify and repair leaks or defects in piping systems
  • Ensure all work complies with NAVSEA, OSHA, and shipyard safety standards
  • Coordinate with welders, shipfitters, and other trades as required

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience as a Pipefitter in shipyard or industrial environments
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and piping schematics
  • Experience working with steel, stainless steel, and copper-nickel piping systems
  • Skilled in pipe cutting, threading, bending, and installation techniques
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools and alignment procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments

Preferred Certifications

  • OSHA 10 Maritime (or higher)
  • Confined Space Entry certification (preferred)
  • Shipyard safety training (Hot Work, Rigging awareness, etc.)

Work Environment

  • Shipboard, dry dock, and industrial job sites
  • Exposure to confined spaces, elevated work areas, and varying weather conditions
  • Physically demanding role requiring lifting, bending, and extended periods of standing
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols is required at all times
