Job Overview

The WAF Coordinator is responsible for managing and processing Work Authorization Forms (WAFs) to ensure employees and contractors are properly assigned, approved, and tracked for all project work. This role supports accurate timekeeping, job costing, and compliance with company and client requirements in a fast-paced shipyard environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Process, review, and maintain all Work Authorization Forms (WAFs)
  • Ensure employees are assigned to correct job codes and projects
  • Verify timecards align with approved work authorizations
  • Coordinate with supervisors, payroll, QA, and project managers
  • Track employee hours and support accurate job costing
  • Maintain documentation for compliance and audit readiness
  • Assist with resolving discrepancies related to timekeeping and labor tracking
  • Support onboarding and ensure proper job assignments are in place

Qualifications

  • Experience in Navy, shipyard, or industrial environments (LCS experience preferred)
  • Familiarity with DSRA (Depot Selected Restricted Availability) environments
  • Experience with:
    • Tag-outs
    • QA coordination
    • Fast-paced maintenance or repair projects
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Excel and timekeeping/payroll systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing Web Application Firewall (WAF) systems within a cybersecurity or IT environment.
  • Strong understanding of system design principles related to network security and construction inspection processes.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler fitting, alarm system sales, and fire alarm sales is a plus for integrating physical security measures with cybersecurity strategies.
  • Familiarity with construction projects involving security infrastructure is desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex security issues quickly and effectively.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with cross-disciplinary teams and documenting procedures clearly.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or similar are preferred.   • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
